Established in 1946, CaroMont Regional Medical Center is a 435-bed medical center located in Gastonia, NC. Nationally recognized for exceptional care and patient safety, this acute care hospital offers a Level III Trauma Center, Pediatric Care Center, nationally-accredited Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art birthing center and Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and acts anchor for the CaroMont Regional Medical Center system of Emergency Care Centers and free-standing hospitals.

CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont

Located off Interstate 85 in Gaston County, the 28-acre medical campus will include a 66-bed hospital (54-acute care beds and 12 observation beds), 16-room emergency department, labor and delivery unit, operating rooms and surgical capabilities, and robust diagnostic testing and imaging services. A medical office building and parking deck is also planned.

In September 2020, CaroMont Health and Belmont Abbey College entered into a long-term partnership to allow CaroMont Health to build the new hospital and medical campus on land owned by the college and monastic community since the late 1800s. The proximity of CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont to the college campus will offer educational opportunities for students in Belmont Abbey College’s health science programs.

Critical Care Tower at CaroMont Regional Medical Center

The construction of a second patient tower on the campus of CaroMont Regional Medical Center will expand hospital critical care , an area that already sees large patient volumes. The 146,000-square foot tower will include four floors, all dedicated to the care and treatment of seriously or critically ill patients. From the innovative floor plan, which will allow our nurses to do their jobs more efficiently, to the larger rooms that balance technology and comfort, this project will make a difference for each of the thousands of patients who depend on us to help change and save their lives.
